    Who were the first people to reach the Americas?

    I know it wasn't Columbus, there are records proving the natives had encounters with other voyagers before.

    Yes, people should all be treated with respect and courtesy. And I agree with your intire statement except, Some Native Americans did not have to reach the Americas, they were already here.

    Surely 'Native Americans were not already there'?
    I thought they crossed the Bering Straits either walking or in canoes many thousands of years ago.
