DO YOU FEEL SAFER WITH A GUN OR A BIBLE ??

OUR "BIBLE" IS 140 VOLUMES IN LENGTH. OUR WEAPON OF CHOICE IS AN "ATOMIZER". I SUPPOSE WE COULD DROP OUR BIBLE ON THE EVIL DOERS!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER: WE'RE LOST IN SPACE!

I live in Australia. After a gun crazed massacre at Port Arthur some years ago ownership of guns was banned, other than for farm use or sporting use when they are kept under strict controls. The crime rate where guns are used had dropped remarkably. Guns bread violence. They will never be stamped out completely but we are so fortunate we just don't have very much gun violence at all any more. The thought of having to own a gun for protection is frightening but understandable in a society where guns are not banned. On the other hand the Bible is the book of life for many Christians.

My wife and I were talking about that the other day, whether to get a gun or not. If someone would break in at night, she said she would pull out her laser pointer and aim it between the legs and say back off. I said wouldn't work in the day.
I said wonder what would happen if I held the Bible up and said GOD loves you? Might shock them, might shoot me but might shock them. Nice if I could do that with a gun behind it for insurance. ....lol

A friend of mine's son was shot because he told this older boy he didn't like his car stereo. After two years had gone by he was able to go and see that young man and forgive him for shootting his son. Not only was that act harder to carry out than shootting a gun but the forgiveness that young man recieved will hurt alot longer than that bullet that was shot.

I have both, but if I had to choose just one it would be the Bible. If I were on marooned on an island with angry natives, I would still choose the Bible. It would keep my mind occupied and my faith strong. Not to mention I have a good deal of Martial Arts training.

I'll answer with scripture, Don't fear him that destroys the body.But fear Him that can destroy body and soul. I like my guns because I love to hunt. But I find more comfort in Gods' word.

My step brother shot his wife with a gun, the bullet was stopped by the bible she was holding... SO if I had to pick one to own it would be the Bible. But I am not giving up my guns.

A gun. But, we're not allowed to own guns. So a bow and arrow would do. It's as primitive as the bible. The bible wouldn't do much damage. Depending upon the size of course.

Good question, I'd rather have the GUN, I won't need a book to prove my love to god, or show him that i love him by choosing it, he already knows what's really inside my heart, But saying that already, i'm against killing another human being no matter what, some people can kill easily, it's not because you might think it's a 'weakness' but it's just true i hate killing others unless children were involved and are in danger, i might be able to :(

Someone can have the bible in front of him and not understand a bit of, someone might not have it with him but the words of god is alive in him all the time, theres a difference

I feel very lucky, not having to make that choice. I dont live in gun holding society. To hold a gun here in Ireland,, a person has to hold special license. They can be used at Gun club, farming, and at special time of year, for grouse hunting.Other than that, gun has to be kept under lock and key. This does not mean , that there are no gun holders. There are crazy people every where.. Thank God, shootings does not happen that often, when it dies, mainly to do with drugs.
