Leave Papa alone! You don't know what kind of life he lives, have you ever asked or noted same? As far as his selection of the Bible goes, to each his own I've always said. You should adopt that philosophy.

the problem is that religious type`s dont read this type of book because it will make them think about the alternatives and that makes them uneasy and so its easier to take shelter in ignorance .

bowlesy, why on earth would you think "religious types" don't read books about anything outside of their chosen faith? How do you think someone reaches a faith conclusion? "Because I said so"?
A person of faith isn't ignorant of alternatives; faith is a choice.
nomdeplume, evolution is much easier to believe than 6 days. It comes with no commitment.

It's not for me to say what or why anyone believes what he believes. I can only speak for myself and, oftentimes, not very well. Personally, I'm saddened it's so few, but that's just me.
