If your exhahst was blocked to any great extent your car would not start. Check with a long piece of wire at the exhaust exit to see that there is no blockage. If your engine is running put you hand over the end of the exhaust system (be careful they can get hot) and you will be able to feel the exhaust pressure changing with the engine.
