What good is the Department of Energy?

It was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

I search DOE files and papers for answers to the questions that I have regarding energy. There are many various levels of their recommendations to congress. There are lots and lots of reports and information in their files If you can read the boring jargon which is interesting sometimes and often hollow as a drum in so far as useful info for me. There are promising facts but apparently there is some sort of “Quash the hell out this X#@&C” mentality that is curious. Apparently DOE will not insult big oil, the auto industry or anyone with money or influence. Maybe I’m just looking in all the wrong places. I think the DOE reflects our educational system and Bureau of Land Management, HUD etc. The government system we have seams to be on life support and just hanging-on to give the impression that they are working on it. It…what? I have seen a lot of ground roots groups with promising ideas that have become little more than scams for the uninitiated selling hollow dreams of “happy days”. I study our history of progress and it is obvious that there is a lamb duck mentality regarding effective progress and disrespect for our history especially regarding Standard Oils rise.

There are energy projects going on in lots of garages and shop back rooms. Lots of people are looking for answers. I have my own. After the earthquake in Japan recently it became clear our government is committed to ending nuclear energy so I decided to let them choke on it and undermine the nay sayers with clean burning, nature made, safe, hydrogen. The way to do that is to make it by the simplest way nature has provided…rust.

this site shows how water and iron react to produce rust and hydrogen. It is fairly simple and in my experience sufficient hydrogen is produced that I’m going for household heating. The process and set-up that I’m designing contains no electronics and no hydrogen goes to the house, just hot water. It is automatically maintained by simple mechanisms. I’m not trying to run a car on this, just household heat. My household heat cost $2000.00 per year, my auto cost $300.00 per year. You will never find this on the consumer market due to anti-trust laws. You can do it for yourself and thus save the planet.
Can someone tell me why this department shouldn't be shut down and save us $24 billion a year.
They have 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.
