NSAID mean Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory drug. In other words it means an anti inflammatory substance that doesn't contain steroids in it. Steroids are the most efficient anti-inflammatory substances there is, but they also cause severe side-effects. There now days it's more common to use NSAIDS and only in severe inflammatory cases where NSAIDS don't help, people use steroids for a short period of time. The most famous NSAIDS are Aspirin and ibuprofen. NSAIDS are available almost in every pharmacy and don't require a prescription as they are not addictive and not dangerous in small doses.

In any way it is best to consult your doctor before taking NSAIDS.
