Yes, I know that people put- into this column from other countries,like Australia, but that doesn't mean that I NEED to ask what countries they represent. We're talking about U.S. states now, teach.

My daughter has just accepted a job in Palm Beach Co. (I think) and I'll be moving her down there next month. She thinks she will like the heat (and beaches), plus she will be off during school break in summer.
My nephew loves Flor with all it's heat, lizards, gators,poisonus snakes, humidity. He and his wife live near Jacksonville. She's a native of the other side of the state. I didn't know you could surf off of the Eaat Coast till Jeff started doing it.
@Mycatsmom, I used to surf here in S.FL, when I was growing up and sometimes we would drive up to Coco Beach just to find good waves. The only times of year there are waves here is the winter time and just before or after a big storm, hurricane or tropical storm.
leeroy, last Sunday , it was cooler in Flor, then here in Mich. In fact, tomorrow ( Thurs) It's supposed to be 100 here !!
@McM, yes I've seen the heat wave hanging around the middle of the country, summer is my least favorite time of year. I suppose we will have it soon as well. The only relief we get from the heat is usually the regular summer rains.

I was there when I was 16, and I said I was going to move there some day. And I later said I was going to retire there some day. But, it didn't work out. Husb didn't want to . Then he died. Now, I have nobody to move down there with :-(

Yvonne57...thanks for asking. Yes the trip was amazing. My kids "got it". I was so proud that near the end they were looking for beggars so they could give them their money. It was amazing, beautiful,awe struck, sad, beyond anything I ever imagined. Out of this trip we came home with an understanding of just how lucky we are to be here.
