To download free mp3 song files to your phone first you need to establish if your phone supports them.

For example, if you want to download an mp3 file to iphone, add the file to your iTunes library and then sync up your iPhone using iTunes.

If you have another phone, I assume it came with an upload/download program which you installed on your computer to assist such transfers.

If all else fails, and you do have a smart phone, plug it into your computer and it should appear as a detachable disk either in your My Computer folder or on your Desktop. Open the disk image of your phone and copy the song file there.
