What would anyone think to be the first to eat an oyster?

It is something that looks like it fell out of an ox nose and I cannot imagine what would posses someone to put that into their mouth without hurling chunks’o slime.

    no couldnt and wont YUK

Curiosity killed the cat, and oysters have killed a few people as well. Make sure they are fresh if you are going to eat them. I worked at a raw bar when I was in high school and used to shuck oysters. I kind of like them on a cracker with some Tabasco. I won't go out of my way to eat them though, I really prefer steamed clams dipped in butter. I still have a few scars from when the shucking knife slipped off the cracked oyster shell and into my hands.

Maybe they needed to hurl chunks o' slime, so they figured it was a good way to do it.
I'm right there, Never had one and Never will.

    i know the feeling.

I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay Oysters were a part of my diet since I was a child. We had oysters  at Sunday dinner in season. Shellfish are hazardous to eat when Algal blooms and neurotoxins are absorbed by shellfish. That problem is carefully monitored by governments globally now.  The effect on sex is folklore. But oysters are delicious to all who have acquired a taste for them. My mom would warm them up in Half & Half and butter for dinner as a soup…to die for. My comments above are the comments I heard from others  about oysters and although you may have thought I don’t like oysters but I am from Newport News…the town that was taught to lie or keep silent…your life depends on it.

lots of hunger or alcohol i love them any way you cook them
