Yes, you can use hydrogen peroxide; this would be very effective. Just be sure to rinse it off your vegetables throughly, because ingestion of hydrogen peroxide is toxic.

There is a food grade hydrogen peroxide to use. Do not use the stuff in your medicine cabinet. The food grade can be consumed.
