    i have fig tree that keeps growing back - i have chain sawed it to the ground. what will kill its roots?

    Drill holes down into the top of the stump. Drill them as deep as you can. Then pour bleach onto the holes. This will effectively kill the roots as the stump will rot faster.
    Drill holes as Colleen suggests and if no bleach I have found kerosene (parrafin?) works killing the roots.
    I wish I could be there and dig the tree and roots up and take them home with me. I love fig trees. Why are you trying to kill it?

    That's a lot of hard work. Have you ever done this? Labor intensive for sure. It usually requires a car or truck and a chain because some roots can travel hundreds of feet down.
