Do any of you remember the first Dragnet series on TV? Jack Webb wrote and starred in it for years. Also a little trivia. From what major city did Jack Webb move to do his Hollywood productions?

Hi Gary remember them well in the 1960s.
    Was it Los Angeles?

Nope, it was San Francisco. He did a radio show called "Candi Matson-YU2=8209" She was a private detective and the phone number was Yukon 2-8209. He moved to LA to do radio "Dragnet" with a well-known San Francisco actor Barton Yarborough who was the FIRST partner of Friday. Yarborough did the first TV show and died before they could do any more. The first radio and TV show were the same. A guy walked in to city hall with a bomb attached. Last line by Yarborough to Webb after he fell getting to the bomb was "clumsy".

That's some interesting background. I never knew about any of that.

I remember the very first radio show and was glued to the set. It was exciting and it was great.

I never knew anything at all about the radio show.

That's where Dragnet started as a "summer replacement" in those days.
