      i beleive they now space it out so every two years its either the summer or winter olympics.

          I understand it is based on the ancient games in Olympus which were held every four years.
          Probably took four years to recover from the previous games particularly as they ,it was only men, performed in the nuddy. WOW! picture the 100 yard sprint.

          No medals only a laurel wreath, wonder what Laurel thought of that? Again imagine Laurel getting to sit on the head of every champion. Lucky Laurel.
