    the first pope (latin: papa, greek:papas meaning "father" it was either st. peter of the original apostles called the victor of christ, some beleive it was the empror constitine aroun 330 "ad" although st peter was considered the head of the first roman catholic church its unclear to me if constintine was more of a dictator rather than a pope!
