Norton Antivirus is exactly the opposite of malware. Norton antivirus or any other antivirus software for that matter, are destined to search computer systems for malware and to get rid of them before they cause any damage.

Viruses can hide in your computer and actually do harm to your data, programs, and even your personal information.
Malware (Spyware) is slightly different but usually doesn't affect your data, but does harm the operation of your computer.
Some programs may claim to remove both but most computer geeks will install separate programs to protect each.
