The lifespan of most solar lights is governed by life of the small solar cell (the most common form of failure) or the life of the small rechargable battery which is charged during daylight hours. They can be replaced. The so called "bulb" is actully not a bulb at all but an LED or several LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). The LEDs are probally the the most reliable part of the solar light and will last for years. Even the very cheap solar lights from Wallmart will give years & years of service.
