if you dont , cook for yourself..
Many times when you go through a lot of effort to cook, it's not for you it's for someone you love or care about. To receive praise after all the effort is just a natural thing to want. It's just like your boss telling you that you've done a great job.

A little praise goes a long way. Tell her as long as there's no poison in it you like the recipe.
"WHAT MY (WIFE) IS SAY'IN IS "GET USE TO IT!"
As a wife and long time cook I prefer the truth. I do not want to make a recipe again if "HE" doesn't care for it.
However, if I like it I will make it for myself.
My he is truly happy with only a few things:
A- Some sort of dead cow
    B-Potatoes

Back to your question: "I don't really care for it but I thank you for trying something new."
When I first got married I insisted on cooking our first meal.

When we had finished I quizzed my wife on all aspects of the meal. She told me it was the best one she had ever had.

So I said "Right that is the standard I expect from you every day."

You are a bad boy. How long did that marriage last?
