More than likely it is aphieds know that is probably spelled wrong. I when I had rose bushes had pretty good luck with them (though a green thumb is not my forte) always every once in a while feed them the rose food that you buy and to handle the problem you are talking of I used sevein dust. I would sprinkle it on the rose bushes just periodically seemed to handle any of that sort of thing. Hope that helps and just another thing I found in the past is a very hearty rose bush is the Mr. Lincoln it is beautiful and blooms a lot and is truly very fragrant.
