They are two completely different things. Volts - or kilavolts, is the PRESSURE or force of the electricity, while amps are the amount. So, they don't compare. You can get the same result with high voltage and low amps as you can with low voltage and high amps - so they compliment each other. Think of a wire as a hose, and the electricity as water. Volts are the pressure of the water, amps is the amount.
