I have the last hair cut from my father's hair before he died at 90 years old, can DNA tell me anything about him from this?

Specifically his heritage? Where his people came from?

I believe one would have to have the root/bulb of the hair in order to do DNA sampling!

You are 100% right on this, Dad59. One would have to have the root intact of the hair in order to be able to extract DNA from it. TU to you
Definitely need the hair folicle to do DNA.
I cannot see why not because they are exhume bodies for DNA from hundreds of years ago and gain information
