    seeing just the picture on the screen

    To see the background picture "only"on my computer screen, thus hiding the file icons that are showing up. I have done it before, but can't remember how?

      Click on your background picture where there are no icons and click ctrl+a then click "delete" this will remove all your icons.
      If you want them back you can go to your recycle bin and restore.
