i would think so cause to use a magic jack you must first already have an existing phone number!

You may be able to keep your existing number but you won't know until you submit it to them.
You should have a second phone system to use if the Magic Jack isn't working well. You MUST have a decent broadband connection to the internet. Your computer MUST be on to use Magic Jack.
Magic Jack works well if all the above are in place. Have you Googled other VOIP systems?
