I agree with Colleen. If you are talking about purging a flamable gas that is used as a fuel, you should get yourself and anybody in it out of the building or structure immediately! Some gases tend to pool low in a room or building, and can be ignited with a simple spark from an appliance, or even from static electricity. It usually ignites explosively when large enough quantities have amassed and it has reached an ignition source.
