I would not match the carpet to the curtians.. Carpet could cost thousands of dollars and can not be changed easily. Curtian are more temporary.... I the curtian are the color shemme through out the house I would go with any carpet that have a golden under tone.... there are reds, browns, and tans... If you went with wood flooring it would flow more crisply.

forget the carpet and get a new curtain ... one that you can't decribe as mustard color :p

Take a curtain with you to the carpet store and put it next to samples. You'll find one that you prefer doing it that way.
