Well that is when someone's teeth usually the top set protrude very obviously out the front my Mom used to say that he looked like he could eat pumpkin through a fence I know not nice but it is what she used to say a long long time ago.

I agree, they are designated after the deer, or rabbit, however we use the term for one with an overbite.  As stated above, baby boomers did not have the option of having braces, like almost every American kid today.  And they can be cause of thumb sucking, or crowded teeth.  Many adults today are getting them fixed with invisible bands, pulling them back into alignment. 

It means you have one Helluva overbite! I've had it for all my life. Orthodontics were not affordable when I was a child and it's not that bad and it makes me me! If you know what I mean (:

For many years BUCK TEETH were the results of young children sucking their thumbs. Those teeth at that young age are more prone to MOVE because they are developing. PARENTS who permitted this are SOLELY RESPONSIBE for their kids looking like WOOD CHUCKS.

aka overbite.  It's when the two upper front teeth protrude excessively from the rest of the teeth, often pushing their way past the lips.  

Braces can cure this, but extraction of other teeth may be part of the process.
