First of all. If we raised the limit on legal immigration it would allow us to increase the number of doctors, scientist, and techs in our country. We have a sad lack of math and science majors. Second, if they would allow illegal immigrants to serve in the military as a road to citizenship it would help staff the military and also help address the illegal issue, as would helping teenagers of illegal immigrants to attend college if they have lived here for most of their lives. This would at least make them more productive citizens, but they would still have to address the legal path to citizenship. Also, increase the temporary worker visa. No matter what people say there are a lot of jobs that Americans just will not do and immigrants will.
