    Poor circulation.
Many things. Poor circulation, diabetic or alcoholic neuropathy to name a few. If this is a new problem it is not to be taken lightly, it is serious.
Your best answer will come from someone in the medical field, probably a physician.
Are you diabetic? If you are it's neuropathy starting and quite normal for a diabetic.
I know I'm numb to the knees.
P.A.D. can start showing up like that. Also, nerve damage (I have some from a previous surgery and my right foot will get tingly and numb a lot) I imagine poor circulation as previously stated...you do need to get it checked out...call your primary care physician for an appointment....he/she may be able to answer and/or refer you to the proper specialist....don't worry and don't weight...it can certainly be an issue if left untreated or undiagnosed...(:
Could be fibromyalgia or pinched nerve in back.
