    High deductible(low premium) or low deductible(high premium)?

    If you have money saved up, say $5000, that you could use for medical care up to that point, then choose the high deductible to $5000. Many people do this just to insure against catastrophic medical expense, but keep their premiums as low as possible. This works if you are basically healthy. Otherwise, do the opposite.
