Yup. One thing comes to mind...drawings of UFO's and alien like beings in Egyptian pyramids. I think they thought the aliens were Gods. Going back further, I believe spacecrafts produced the "voices" in the sky during biblical times. This, in my opinion, is why people have a passed down from ancient civilizations belief that God lives in the sky and that's why people "look up to heaven" for guidance. Ancient cultures did this when they looked up to the sky for the beings that came from the sky to assist and guide them. I believe this is why the church does not want it's followers to believe in aliens. Because if the truth came out, it would explain angels and the voices from the sky.

Great question, and very good answers so far, I have only watched television shows on history channel about this subject lately and haven't read up on it in a while, but It's an extremely interesting subject thumbs up to all of you.

The Australian Aboriginee is one of the oldest race on earth and in their cave drawings beings are depicted with what looks like helmets on their heads.
It has been long thought that these represented visitors from outer space.
The Aboriginees have been in Australia for 40,000 years and they have many stories of strange beings and how things came to be.
They and their stories are fascinating.

The Urantia book provides the best account of this I have ever read. Its not “One Giant Leap Into The Looney Bin” or a collection of alien abduction stories. The book is FREE yes FOLKS ITS FREE on line, GET YOURS NOW!!! ITS FREE. Ok , I’m through shouting. Please just read the book and skip over the parts you find boring…you can do that you know.

Most interesting question and thought. I think it is most likely true but it would give the religious right/left and middle folks outrageous fits to even contemplate the thought. Dam those blasphemous heretics, thought we burned them all at the stake hundreds of years ago.
