A radio ham is a person that holds a wireless telegraphy license and allows the holder to transmit worldwide using voice (telephony) or Morse code (telegraphy). Radio hams worldwide must sit examinations before a license is issued. Not to be confused with CB radio. Radio hams also provide emergency communication during many disasters when other forms of communications fail.
