I like having a paypal acct. Basically and this is just a quick answer. You give them whatever you want for info, like bank accts or credit cards etc. and they pay people for you. That way only one company has all you info. instead of 20?? or however many you pay. I use it all the time for web sites because you never know who your dealing with and this way they don't get much more then your name and address. So it's kinda like a go between. You can send money to anyone who has an email address.
