      I hope they ban buying Turtles everwhere as I think they should stay where they were born "you heard of Born Free"

        It seems I read something somewhere about turtles being known carriers of a certain kind of bacteria. I think I might have read it in a pet shop. Anyway, there are a few states that don't allow or limit the sale of turtles these days.

          True; this is due to a bacteria called Salmonella, which can cause intestinal illness (vomiting and diarrhea).

          Because they carry disease and it has become a Public Health concern.
