    when someone residing in your home abandons their place in your home and their posessions how long before you can take care of their belongings left behind to your discretion???

    My ex, who owes me a large sum of money and has a drug habit he's been hiding, ran off with his ex to avoid being exposed and paying me back the money he owes. He has been gone almost 3 months. His belongings are still at my house and I wish to sell what I can to get some of my money back and get rid of rest of what;s left.

        In the apartment industry,the norm is thirty days.Usually you have to make a true effort to inform the owner(s)of the time limit. Document the date they left,with witnesses if possible and after 30 days,do what you want with it.
