NSAIDS are often effective as long as there is not a bleeding issue. These are medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen etc. Tylenol may also help.
Many people are able to take propoxyphene with or without acetaminopen also called Darvon and Darvocet. They usually have less gastric issues than opiates.
Tramadol sold as Ultram may also be effective, but is an opioid and can cause the same gastric issues in many patients.
