david essex was a solo performer in the 70`s- had numerous number 1`s such as Gonna Make you a Star and lamplight. he also starred in loads of films. He still does concerts now and acts on stage. Is as good now as he was then! (only a lot balder and a lot older- but aren't we all!!!) If you google him, you can see what he looked like in the 70's .
