Since we all have the right to vote constitutionally, wouldn’t state requirements that require proofs of citizenship, residency or identification such as a driver’s license violate constitutional law? Gentian Violet dye is used to mark the hand of those who have voted in foreign countries to assure no one votes more than once in an election. We have no such provision here. It takes a few days for the dye to wear off your hands and cannot be removed with soap or solvents. I would like to see more federal involvement in the voting process in every state rather than leaving it up to states to muck it up.
