    Do you need a cd to activate a full restore on a laptop?

    I have some issues with my compaq laptop and I want to restore it to its original condition.

      You will need the system disc, that should have come with the computer new. If you don't have them check with who you got it from. Check http://www.ebay.com/

        you may get by with a "system restore" built into most new computers. How old is computer and what program do you have? WindowsXP, MS7, These have built in restorers. be sure to save all programs you don't want to lose. they will be erased.
