        Use this relation:


        1000000 meter square  = 1 kilometer square.


        So, 1 meter square = 1/1000000 kilometer square.


        Therefore, 1000 meter square  = 1000 / 1000000  = 1/1000 kilometer square = 0.001 kilometer square.
