      Have you tried googling his name? Also, I go to "white pages" which is the online version of the telephone book and type in a name and city or at least a state they could be living in.

        Maybe you can track down some other friends that used to hang out with your friend, possibly one of them may still be in contact with the person. If not I think google charges about ten dollars to find the person, they will give you some information for free...
