    verticle, i like to think of it as y being a higher letter in the alphabet than x so it goes UP
    vertical

    By convention, for 2-dimensional figure


    y-axis is vertical and x -axis is horizontal one.


    But you can use x - axis as vertical and y -axis as horizontal one as well.


    For 3-dimensional figure, there is no certain specification, where to put the axes.


    So, for 3-dimensional figure, it can be anywhere.
