      Contact a large church and see if they will do a "barn raising" for you.

              And why don't you have homeowner's insurance? It's much cheaper than you think when you consider a bill for thousands. If you home has a mortgage, you have homeowner's insurance. It's required.

                  Insurance would not have helped you out. The policy excludes coverages from, due to collapse & products and/or neglect that cause a structure to destroy itself.
