      No. You will need to place your pineapples and brown sugar in first. Then your batter. cook it all at once. As it cools, you will turn it over and empty out the cake.

      Otherwise, it is not pineapple upside down cake.

        If it's an upside-down pineapple cake, butter base of tin then put on brwn sugar and fruit then add cake mix and cook. When cooked turn out while hot. OK?
