The secret to this cake is to place the slices of pineapple on the bottom of the dish and cover them with brown sugar, then pour the cake batter on top and pop it into the oven. After the cake is cooked, cool it off first then turn the cake pan over onto a large plate. When the cake comes out of the pan it will have the brown sugar and sliced pineapple on the top of it. Serve with whipped cream and enjoy.

Oooh, you make a good pineapple upside down cake! Make one and I'll be right over! :D
I'll make two - one for you and one for me! Haven't had one since I was in my 30's, my Mom used to make the best ones for sure and let me lick the whipped cream beater too!
