      I think they start weening at about 4 weeks or so. Momma dog will basically keep pushing the pups away when it's time. As always check with your Vet.

        Puppies are able to be fully weaned and on solid dog food by the time they reach 7 weeks. Before them (5-6 weeks) you can offer them dry food or moistened dry food. The biggest tipoff will be when they try to eat Mom's food while she's eating (I usually feed Mom puppy food as she needs the extra protein in it while preggers). That is the time to introduce some dry food to them.

            You can start feeding at 5 weeks old . Start them off with puppy food and wet it or a can of puppy food . Give them aliitle three to four times a day .
