It's called thrust. The weight is a force created by the gravity and this force is pulling the object downwards. When the object rests on the earth, the earth is pushing it upwards with the same amount of force (thrust). That is why the object is resting on the earth's surface. If the weight is more than the thrust, the object will go through the surface of the earth. If the thrust is more than the weight, the object will move upwards away from the surface of the earth.
