The symptoms you are describing sound like your operating system is currupted (microsoft windows). Put your windows disk in cd drive if it does not auto run, go to my computer and double click on your cd rom drive.
If you cannot get the windows install window up, switch machine off with cd in drive then restart the laptop, be patient watch the little light on your laptop that flickers next to the power on light which is lit all the time. Eventually as the laptop is booting up it will boot from the cd drive,when the message appears on the screen do you wish to install windows click yes and follow the prompts,be aware this will reformat your hard drive and you will lose any files you have on the hard drive.
I ASSUME YOU HAVE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE!
If not get norton 360 or the equivelent, once windows is freshly installed immediately install anti virus software before connecting to the internet, once you have done that click on updates for windows once you have completed all that, click on update antivirus software. your machine should run prettty well from their. finally run disk defragmenter from accessories allow this to complete and then set up schedule to defrag weekly.
