    i bought a 1 TB used eternal hard drive and wants to use but anytime i connect to my laptop it connects alright but i dont get the shortcut icon under My Computer. i then right click my computer and go to Manage then to Managengent. i then dont know how to assign a letter to the drive in order to see the shortcut. i use VISTA and need some help

    No offense, but Vista pretty much sucks. If you are in My Computer, you should see the drive with a letter assigned to it. If not, then you need to "install" it as new hardware. This should automatically create a drive letter for you. However, if not, right click on the drive and you should be able to at least create a shortcut to the drive, where it says, "Create shortcut,"
