Hi I have cats and when we moved here someone said dont let your cats out as someone is killing them a long story we found the cat killer but cant say too much on that subject if you know what i mean anyway back to the answer we resorted to going on the web and found a net you put up on your exsisting fence it
has a angle of 45 degrees and the cats will not get out or come in this was a breeder in the uk who invented this and now she is worth millions good luck melanie

Pretty cool idea M. Will have to check that one out. Thanks.
There are commercial repellents from the hardware store or nursery that work pretty good. Some people use moth balls or black pepper laid down especially where they are used to going to the potty. One that I really like is a sprayer that is hooked up to an electric eye, when the cat passes by the sensor it shoots off a spray of water in that direction. Wham - wet, unhappy cat!

My cats stay indoors so they don't get into trouble like this, but my neighbors don't believe in keeping theirs indoors and have been known to dig in our garden - not anymore!

CB's idea of a Havahart Trap works pretty good too, except where do you dump off the cats after you catch them. Some place safe, some place remote, or the local animal rescue?
COULD EVERYONE PLEASE LOVE CATS !!!!! :)

I'd love it if they roamed my yard, the more the merrier :)

No. Where do you live? I'll mail the ones that brave my yard to you.

I live all the way in Australia, don't MAIL them, you already have hurt them alot, no need to suffocate them more , [glare] :#

LOL, I'm sorry dh, I know you're really mad at me right now but you're making me laugh. Responsible pet owners keep their cats safe. That's all I can say.

AH doublehelix you are my hero x
BB gun. Yes, I do shoot at cats in my backyard. I'm tired of finding dead baby birds. I love birds and do not like cats. The cats lose. Either my dogs go after them or they get a BB in their butt. Cats do not need to be roaming the neighborhood if someone owns them. They can keep them in their yard on a cat run or in the house. I own my yard and cats are not welcome.

    NOOOOOO Colleeeen!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TEars falling...give me a second to clear.....HOW COULD YOU????

LOL, glare away. House cats that are well fed do not need to kill the baby birds in my backyard. I did not have my brother build me bird houses and put them in my trees so dumbass cats could come prancing in and kill the babies. I don't kill the cats but I bet those BB's sting like a mother.
    doublehelix

No, really, it stings? this is it, i'm stone dead.....
But build the bird house a bit up high you know, after all they can fly, so cats won't be attracted, and you won't HURT them.

Do you have any idea how high a cat will climb? Yes, I'm sure it stings. Better that than my dogs catching them.
I had to rent a trap. It cost 15 dollars for one week. I caught 9 cats including my own.oops!

Too funny CB. At least it was effective.

I thought it was funny too but my cat did'nt think so.
i'd tollerate the cats for as long as they got rid of the birds, then it'd be time to release the hounds to tear the liddle puddy tats to frickin shreds!
    doublehelix

oooooow , i didn't understand the last bit's , but they were hating comments on cats? :O
    doublehelix

NOOO, what's happening to the world :oOo
i'd welcome the Cats, they might take care of the frickin Birds, which btw are getting a dose of rat poison today (birds not cats).

YAY I got a supporter :) how about we persuade Colleen that cats are better than birds!
go to your nearest Zoo and ask the keepers for a bag of lion droppings, mulch these into your borders.
the cats will recognise the smell of a much more powerfull preditor and stay away from the area.

LOL, my nearest zoo is 4 hours away. Think I'll stick with the BB gun.
