The train station is in downtown San Francisco. There may be bus service to the area but not to the bridge itself. Your best bet is to rent a car or hire a cab. The bridge is on the northwest side of the city. There is a tourist building at the south entrance of the bridge (SF side) and I believe a snack shop. It's been a long time since I've been there. And I'm a native San Franciscan. My sisters skated across the bridge when it was opened in mid 1930's. There is no charge to walk across it either. And there is a car toll to cross it into the City but not to leave the City
