      the Federal Trade Commission is quite responsive and fast. They do take prisoners.

        In Australia our Government have a web site called Scamwatch, this is great as it reports all known scams, plus you are able to obtain advice and lodge new ones as they affect you. Also if you receive abuse via email, just send the abusive email to abuse@whichever serviceprovider the abusive email came from, i.e abuse@hotmail.com etc and they will investigate and can close down the initiators access.
